Azuma Zaibatsu uses a large number of Japanese terms. This is a reference guide for understanding what these terms are understood to mean in this clan. Some of them are very rough and may not necessarily be direct translations.
- azuma – east, eastern, eastern Japan
- bannin – guard
- chui – lieutenant
- chujo – lieutenant general
- chunin – middle ninja; refers in this clan to the main career held by gunso in a ninja guild
- chusa – lieutenant colonel
- daifu – father, godfather; refers in this clan to the leader of a family
- gaikoukan – diplomat
- genin – lower ninja; refers in this clan to the main career held by a heicho in a ninja guild
- gensui taisho – marshal; refers in this clan to the rank held by the shirei during wartime
- gunso – sergeant
- heicho – lance-corporal; refers in this clan to the rank called “Corporal” in English
- henkou – (literally) modification; refers in this clan to the modder career
- hokage – fire shadow; leader of a ninja fire guild
- hoshikage – star shadow; leader of a ninja star guild
- jikokukage – time shadow; leader of a ninja time guild
- jonin – higher ninja; refers in this clan to the main career held by a socho in a ninja guild
- jonin hancho – jonin commander; refers in this clan to the main career held by a chui in a ninja guild
- jotohei – private 1st class; refers in this clan to the rank called “Private” in English
- junsa – police
- kage – shadow; refers to the leader of a ninja guild
- kazekage – wind shadow; leader of a ninja wind guild
- kenpei – unity, uniting, power, authority; refers to the overseer of the clan
- kenzoku – (literally) family; refers in this clan to all the leaders of the guilds and schools
- maneja-boisu – voice (Ventrilo) manager
- maneja-foramu – forum manager
- maneja-kumi – class manager
- maneja-saba – server manager
- maneja-saito – site manager
- minita-akutibitu – activity monitor
- mizukage – water shadow; leader of a ninja water guild
- musha – warrior; used for the warrior class
- ofisa-rikuruta – recruitment officer
- oyabun – boss, chief; refers in this clan to the rank held by the kenpei
- oshiego – student, disciple; refers in this clan to the main career held by a jotohei in a ninja guild
- raikage – lightning shadow; leader of a ninja lightning guild
- rikuruto – recruit
- saba-adomin – server admin
- sabaki – tribunal; refers to a certain career that settles disputes like a court/tribunal
- saishu – master of ceremonies
- sannin – (literally) three people; refers in this clan to the elite warrior career held by a member of a ninja guild
- sensei – teacher
- senzoku – specialist
- shidou – leadership; refers in this clan to the three leadership career groups, which are the shirei, the sabaki, and the kenzoku
- shirei – commander; refers to the executive career held by a taisho
- shinsain – examiner
- shoi – second lieutenant
- shosa – major (rank in military)

- shuusei – modification, correction, adjustment, retouching; used for the modding (modifications) class

- tsuchikage – earth shadow; leader of a ninja root/earth guild
